A WARNING about fraudsters using UK dating website to target people for money has come from Thames Valley Police.

The force put out the caution urging people to be aware of the online scams.

It said scammers ‘lower their target’s defences’ by building an online relationship, then asking for sums of money.

It urged people not to give away too much personal detail online such as full name, date of birth and address. Never send or receive money, do not give away bank details and stick to reputable dating site’s messaging services.
